— Metamorphose (Metamorphosis)
Oil on paper 2022
The pretty moth.
A exercise in style to realize a composition including the process of automated painting.
I had a hard time with this painting, it went through several steps: at first, I wanted to make a tattoo, fastly, it degenerated and became peacock feathers. Then, the feathers shapeshifted into a Dragon and in the end, the last transformation is when I said "Stop" and of which you have the result.
An aesthetic halfway between a rip and ice.
This exercise was to voluntarily lose myself, because in painting, I assume that one needs to know how to lose oneself to find what one looks for because most of the time, I find while searching.
This is the reason why the title of this painting, similar to my artistic approach is always shifting.
