A meaningful subject.

Beyond the subject that it seems to me unnecessary to further develop, I will only add this maxim: A painting well set in its time.

This Glacier Noir (Black Glacier) is a symbolic interpretation or of a realistic landscape, an experience of a landscape in our oil era. We are now far away from the peaceful and bucolic representation of our country scene in painting.

Here, our country scenes deserted our sight, leaving behind a dark and silent imprint, made from rocks and stones, the imprint of the retreating Glacier.

Despite the deceptive appearances of my Manoirs, these are paintings full of hopes.

Here I tried to work on a new way to observe a glacier, more specifically the light at the core of the glacier. Don't try to find a similarity with an existing Glacier, this landscape is faceless. The Glacier Noir (Black Glacier) is a subject close to my heart, a very personal representation, one that I have inside of me.

This subject is not the last I will work on in the future, other Glaciers will come and complete my Manoirs collection…
