Night on the sea.
Marines, a topic I particularly affectionate.
In this representation of a fishing on the sea night scene, you will notice the littleness of the men facing the size of the Nature torments. The lantern enlightning the fishing rod on this frail boat on the foreground cannot be compared to the one from the Moon that includes all the scene.
This composition shows well the human kind microcosm in the core of the nature macrocosm.
The technique used for my Manoirs is constantly evolving, the relatively little format of this composition took me a lot of meticulousness, up to work the waves foam with a toothpick.
This subject is a real good example of the legacy from the Romantics period, a period where humanity, at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, is already aware of its place inside this macrocosm…
